A message from the Board of Directors of the Third Cost Lacrosse Foundation:

Third Coast Lacrosse was founded on the core belief that lacrosse should be accessible to all children. Central to this issue is the fact that lacrosse is an expensive sport and often presents a barrier to entry that is simply too high for large portions of an economically diverse city like Houston, TX. For us, accessibility is not a choice; it’s a commitment. We’re dedicated to breaking down the financial and social barriers that often hinder participation in what we truly feel is the greatest sport on earth.

We pursue this goal in a number of ways;

  1. Scholarship Programs: We offer scholarships or financial assistance to children from low-income families, covering registration fees, equipment costs, and other expenses associated with playing lacrosse.
  2. Equipment Drives: We organize equipment drives and solicit donations of gently used or new lacrosse gear to provide to children who may not have access to the necessary equipment.
  3. Community Partnerships: We collaborate with local schools, community centers, and other youth organizations to extend our reach and make lacrosse more accessible to underserved communities.
  4. Fundraising: Conduct fundraising events to help cover the cost of our organization’s programs, and thereby passing less of this cost on to players.
  5. Volunteer Coaches: We recruit and train volunteers where possible who can serve as coaches or support staff.
  6. Grant Opportunities: We research and apply for grants from various sources that support youth lacrosse initiatives and equity.
  7. Inclusivity Initiatives: We ensure that our organization is inclusive and welcoming to children of all backgrounds and abilities.
  8. Strategic Planning: Our long-term strategic plan outlines the strategies and resources needed to achieve our mission of accessibility.

If you are hesitating to join our program because of the cost of equipment, team fees, or any other financial reason, please fill out the scholarship outreach form below which goes directly to the Board of Directors for action.

We look forward to seeing you on the field!
